With the school Easter holidays approaching we thought we share some of our teams favourite things to do with their families locally. We are lucky to have such great green space and leisure facilities right on our doorstep in WD3. Check out some of our recommendations below.
Rickmansworth Aquadrome
Here you will find beautiful wildlife trails surrounding natural lakes as well as an adventure playground for the big and little kids. Finish off your walk by warming up in The Café in The Park – from sweet treats to yummy lunches, enjoy a hot cup of something while your little one plays in the mud kitchen!
The Kitchen, Croxley
A child friendly café offering biscuit decorating, afternoon teas and bespoke cakes. You may also spot some local Ales on sale for the grown ups! The helpful team at The Kitchen can cater for all your needs.
William Penn Leisure Centre, Rickmansworth
They have a range of sporty indoor activities on offer over half term and the swimming pool with fun inflatables or 1 to 1 lessons. There is plenty to keep your child active and happy!
Oxhey Activity Park, Oxhey
This vibrant skate park is accessible for all ages and abilities and is located within walking distance of Bushey Station. Busy parents can relax with a drink and snack in the Riverside Café, whilst children can discover the play trails, which are suitable for disabilities.
Woodland Walks
Get your wellies on and go and explore some of the beautiful woodland areas in WD3. Croxley Hall Woods and Chorleywood Common both have some great trails. With lots of wildlife to spot, your little ones are sure to be kept busy and active. Both woodlands are close by to cafes, shops and local pubs.
Cassiobury Park, Watford
Covering 250 acres, Cassiobury park is one of the most loved parks in southern England. In fact, it frequently wins awards and is celebrated in national top ten lists. You will find an array of activities to keep your children occupied, including a miniature railway, two large adventure playgrounds and two cafes where you can enjoy hot drinks, cakes and food while relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the park.
Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth
Enjoy a variety of live shows and family films at this local theatre.

Rock Up, Atria Watford
This rock-climbing and adventure centre inside Atria Watford shopping centre has become a firm favourite in recent years. It includes 27 climbing walls towering over eight metres tall with climbing sessions available for all ages, including toddlers.
Ninja Warrior UK, Watford
Inspired on the family entertainment show Ninja Warrior UK, this exciting venue at Woodside Leisure Park in Garston is perfect for the whole family. Whether you start as a Ninja in training, or you’re a bit more of a master, you are faced with a variety of obstacles and challenges to get the heart racing! Or if you would prefer to just observe your little (or big) ones, there is a café where you can enjoy a hot drink and treat.
Rickmansworth High Street
In Rickmansworth you will find an array of cafes, restaurants and shops. With the metropolitan line station taking you in to central London and the Aquadrome and Canal within walking distance there are plenty of options here.
